Eileen was a mother to eight children, a grandmother to sixteen and great-grandmother to four little ones. Born in Liverpool on the 16th January 1937, Eileen spent most of her life in the city, and passed away peacefully on November 27th 2012. Eileen was resilient and determined and overcame a diagnosis of 'terminal' lung cancer in 2001, following which she attended and supported the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation in the media. Known to many of her friends and family as 'Ei', she was a very warm and caring person who loved her family, and was well liked by many friends and acquaintances who came to know her over the years.
